Welcome to my new website.
I have decided to start over a little. Or maybe a lot. The old site had become too modern and too full of stuff, so I made this one simple, grey, and a little old-looking. Just like me.
So I rebuilt the whole thing with 11ty.
It feels good. Simple, clean, fast, and slightly nerdy in the right way. A small static website where I can post music, notes, experiments, updates, and whatever else I feel like putting here. No big plan. No grand strategy. Just a place that feels like mine again.
Please expect a permanent state of under construction, obviously.
I have also done a reset of my music catalogue. A bit of a tabula rasa. Same music, but with a clearer and more consistent presentation. More room to breathe.
The good thing about having your own website is that you can do whatever you want. So that is the plan. I will do whatever I want.
Looking forward, there is new music in progress, along with other small bits of madness. Some of it is calm. Some of it is strange. Some of it is probably both, because apparently that is where I live.
My Ableton Extensions are also going through a redesign. They will come back when they are ready. In the meantime, I really recommend checking out the world of Ableton Extensions and what Ableton Live can offer with it. There is a lot of interesting stuff happening there, and it still feels like we are only at the beginning of what these extensions can become.
Also: I miss winter.
I know that is not a popular opinion, but I do. Cold air, dark evenings, quiet streets, the whole thing. I have also been going back and listening through older Ryuichi Sakamoto releases lately. What an inspiration.
So yes. New website. Clean slate. Old music still here. New music on the way. Extensions being rebuilt. Winter being missed. Sakamoto's still amazing.
Seems like a good place to begin.
